Capital Audiofest 2025: Another North American High-End Audio Show Turns 15

12-18-2025 | By Myles B. Astor | Issue 142

GTT Audio

Vivid Audio Giya G3 Cu bespoke color, $55K, Audionet Schrödinger monoblocks, $71K, Audionet Mach preamplifier, $37K, NADAC Master Fidelity NADAC C&D, $55K, Kubala-Sosna Ovation cables

No analog here (as with other shows) but Parrish and company nonetheless obtained good sound. And this analog dinosaur has figured out how to use an iPad and stream familiar music. The sound here through Vivid's new speakers was vanishingly low in distortion and coloration.

Hifi Life Audio

Alta Audio Geo Mk II speakers, $3K, Yamaha R-N1000 receiver, $2K, SOTA Pixie Phono, $349, SOTA Eclipse turntable with motor speaker control, $2500, Tributaries cables

Kudos to the proprietors of the Hifi Life Audio room for assembling a modestly priced and very musical sounding system. Who knew the Yamaha integrated could sound that good?

High Water Sound

Zeiler Audio SP-01 speakers, $35K, Zeiler Audio PA-01 amplifier, $35K, Zeiler Audio PR-01 preamplifier, $35K, Torqueo Audio T-34 Exclusive Ardesia Mk3 turntable, $25K, Controllo Limited X, $10K, Glanz MH-1200S tonearm, various Ortofon SPU cartridges with SUt-T100, Dalby Audio, Stein Music, Furutech cables

Jeff Catalano pulled together another largely Eurocentric system fronted by Zeiler electronics and speakers from Switzerland. The rest of the system included products from companies hailing from Denmark, Japan, Italy and Germany.

Ideon Audio/JMF Audio/YG Acoustics

YG Acoustics Sonya 3.3, $99K, JMF Audio HQS 6002 dual mono power amplifier, $49K, PRS 1.5 dual mono preamplifier, $42K, Epsilon DAC-Meta, $55K, EOS streamer, $16K, Absolute Time, $13K, JMF SR8 speaker and CM4 interconnect cables

There was no shortage of YG Acoustics speakers at the show being driven by an incredibly wide variety of electronics and front ends.

Jaguar Audio

Estelon YB MkII speakers, $43K, Vitus Audio SIA-025 MkII integrated amplifier, $34K, Phasemation EA-1200 phonopreamplifier, dual power supply, $20K, KL Audio Magnezar no-clamping model turntable $85K, Pivoted Tangental arm, $65K, Phasemation PP-2000 cartridge, $6600, Kubala-Sosna Elation cables

Seattle-based Jaguar Audio came cross country with several tasty items including the latest iteration of Peter Cheon's non-clamping Magnezar turntable equipped with his tangential, pivoting tonearm.
