These days there are many ways to get music – streaming services, digital download stores, internet radio stations – and Roon supports them all. Today, Qobuz, the world’s first certified Hi-Res streaming and download service, announced that they’ve partnered with Roon version 1.6 to integrate their acclaimed Hi-Res streaming directly in Roon.
Now, users can access the entire Qobuz catalog in Roon, allowing them to take advantage of Roon’s metadata with all of their favorite Qobuz content.
With the integration, you can seamlessly sync Roon and Qobuz collections, and use Roon’s Versions to replace your lossy content with lossless versions from Qobuz.
All the music, all the metadata – and more than an integration
This integration isn’t just an implementation of Qobuz playback in Roon. It was a collaborative effort to let users use Roon’s unique metadata, browsing, and library-building features to explore all the music Qobuz has to offer, and to collect and organize their favorites.
Roon and Qobuz are constantly in sync, so if you add a Qobuz album in Roon it’s saved to your Qobuz account, and vice versa. If you’re on the go with the Qobuz mobile app and favorite an album, it’ll be waiting for you in Roon when you get home.
More ways to discover
Roon gives you two ways to access Qobuz content – through a dedicated Qobuz page accessible from the navigation menu, and also alongside the music already in your collection. Qobuz content will show up in search results, recommended music, and in every other corner of Roon, giving you more ways to discover.
You can also use Roon’s version feature to find lossless versions of your lossy content on Qobuz, or compare the versions you already own, then choose your favorite as the primary version.
All your favorite Qobuz content
Sometimes it’s hard to pick what you want to listen to, so Roon knew it was important to pull in as much of Qobuz’s editorial content as possible. Open the Qobuz page in Roon to browse trending albums, new releases, Taste of Qobuz, playlists, and more.
