New Audio Rack Incorporates Rugged X-Brace Design Throughout for Maximum Stability and Weight Capacity
GRAND RAPIDS, MI, March 15, 2019 – Pangea Audio, developer and manufacturer of high performance, high value audio accessories, today announced a new rugged and highly stable audio rack, X-Brace Four-Shelf Audio Rack, that incorporates steel X-Braces that provide maximum strength and rigidity.
Scheduled to ship in late March, the X-Brace Audio Rack (SRP: $199.95) updates Pangea Audio’s popular Vulcan Four Shelf Audio Rack with an X-Brace that was previously found on the Vulcan Turntable Stand’s bottom shelf.
“The X-Brace on the TT stand added to the rack’s stability and even served a dual purpose of holding a row of vinyl records in place,” said Steve Niemi, Director of Global Sales, Pangea Audio, LLC. “But recently, one of our designers realized that if adding the X-Brace to one shelf adds rigidity, adding them to an entire rack will further improve stability several fold.”
Like the Vulcan TT stand and audio rack, the X-Brace Audio Rack incorporates a modular design, providing both a sturdy, low vibration platform for electronics and gear. By adding the X-Brace design to the entirety of the rack, extreme stability is achieved, with each shelf capable of holding 80 lbs., and 300 lbs. for the entire four-shelf rack. In comparison, the original Vulcan Audio Rack holds 72 lbs. per shelf and 220 lbs. total.
The modular open-air design allows users to add or remove shelves with minimal effort. Simply flip the X-Brace upside down to add shelves from the bottom.
Available in a black, rosenut, or carbon-fiber vinyl finish, the Vulcan X-Brace Audio Rack includes four thick and dense 19mm extra-thick MDF (medium density fiberboard) shelves that are wrapped in an easily cleaned vinyl material that resists scuffs. The front and sides of the shelves are contoured for a sleek, streamlined aesthetic.

Pangea customers who currently own one or more of the original Vulcan racks are able to take advantage of the X-Brace upgrade thanks to the availability of Vulcan X-Brace 10” Replacement Posts that allow users to change the spacing between shelves from 7” to 10”, thereby accommodating taller components.
Vulcan X-Brace 10” Replacement Posts (SRP: $39.95 set/4) are compatible with the company’s Vulcan Audio Rack, Vulcan X-Brace Audio Rack, Vulcan Turntable Stand, and Vulcan Amp Stand.
