Qobuz is exclusively releasing producer and percussionist Carlos Niño and DJ-producer Photay’s Hi-Res live EP International Anthem @ Public Records (Volume 4) 121022 today. Niño says on the performance: “We crammed onto the riser stage at Public Records using every inch of space, and even set up some pieces on top of the Devon Ojas’s Speaker Cabinets, and on the floor next to the stage. We all had many Instruments with us, Organic Acoustics and Amplified Electronics. It was an incredible array of unique energies… Was a wonderful night! We had a blast on all levels!"
Scott McNiece, co-founder and and A&R director of International Anthem, said “Listening to these recordings, it's such a joy to relive these memories of our seasonal journeys to New York, and the beautiful music we've shared in The Sound Room at Public Records. And it's especially wonderful to be able to share them with the world via vivid high res audio on Qobuz. For those who couldn't be there, it's as close as you can get to being with the music in the room on those nights. We're honored and grateful to continue presenting this concert series alongside Qobuz, and look forward to eternalizing many more moments of progressive music together!"

The next event in the Public Records residency being co-presented by International Anthem and Qobuz will be on Saturday, July 29th with a performance by Chicago-based Damon Locks (Black Monument Ensemble) and Marfa-based Rob Mazurek (Exploding Star Orchestra, Chicago Underground), performing in celebration of their first duo album, New Future City Radio, which releases July 28th on International Anthem. Brooklyn-based composer Lori Scacco will open the night with a solo performance of her signature narrative synthesizer works. Tickets are available HERE.
The previous three shows in the International Anthem / Qobuz series have featured performances by Makaya McCraven in a special ensemble with a string quartet (video of that performance here); Alabaster DePlume with Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer; and the late trumpeter jaimie branch’s Anteloper duo with Jason Nazary. Together, these shows and their resulting exclusive releases make up just one example of Qobuz’ commitment to the independent music community, and the more adventurous music often overlooked by the mainstream. Earlier this year, Qobuz held a showcase at SXSW featuring the indie artists Yazmin Lacey, Shana Cleveland, Miss Grit, Kiwi Jr., DoomCannon, Daniel Villarreal, Caramelo Haze, and Barrie, and previous exclusive releases include music from Dinosaur Jr., Circuit des Yeux, Christian McBride, Frank Zappa, Tower of Power, and many more.
