We're messaging you because we are no longer going to include the option of downloading all lower DSD resolutions with a purchase. In this letter we explain why we changed that policy and what we offer as a solution to those of you who want to keep having access to the various DSD rates.
It went fine for over 4 years, but with the many more higher formats available - (almost every new release is available up to DSD 256 or even DSD 512) - including and transferring so much data is what was getting us in trouble. In order for NativeDSD to survive as a platform we are having to take a close look at our costs of this data storage and especially the costs of data transfer. While we will keep investing in the site's user friendliness and maintain our high quality level of sourcing, receiving, creating, tagging, origin controlling, customer supporting, storing & file-transferring, we must save the necessary expenses by not including the lower DSD resolutions automatically anymore for each order.
The solution for those of you who want to keep getting access to the various rates can use a yearly NativeDSD Plus subscription, and some of you have already signed up! This is designed for anyone that has multiple DACs and needs to play the various rates from every order across devices. However, most software players can take any DSD rate and downstream it on the fly to your DAC.
We hope you’ll understand the change in direction, but if you have any feedback, please feel free to reply. We’ll review all the feedback we receive on the matter, and will take action as appropriate. Keep in mind that we may not be able to respond to these requests individually.
Overall, you should not experience any change in how you use NativeDSD's store, and our platform will continue to provide you with the experience you’ve come to know and trust, providing you original audio directly from the labels and engineers that recorded this music.
