MoFi Electronics introduces the Falcon Acoustics M10 loudspeaker to their product lineup. A high-quality 2-way monitor with a small footprint that produces a convincingly full-bodied sound, this new model is targeted at the audiophile while at an affordable price.
The design goal of the M10 – the entry-level model to the new M series - was to create something similar to the LS3/5a BBC mini-monitor with its own unique character. In the words of Falcon Acoustic managing director Jerry Bloomfield, “The ‘M’ range is designed with one objective in mind: to present a range of speakers appealing to those who desire the qualities of a traditionally voiced British speaker, which draw the musicians into the room and allow the listener to engage with music again.” This was achieved in part through the very careful selection of drivers: The 5” Falcon B110 bass driver is a precise replica of the legendary KEF B110 that was painstakingly recreated using modern technology, as well as a 1” soft dome tweeter that is manufactured by SEAS to Falcon’s exacting specifications.
The result is a stunningly beautiful stand mount loudspeaker housed in a gorgeous cabinet that comes from the same factory in Italy which is responsible for the company’s pricier Gold Badge LS3/5a model. Again, Bloomfield states unequivocally that “we still haven't seen anyone who can achieve the same cabinet quality for the price”. Consequently, the Falcon Acoustics M10 sounds as superb as it looks and looks as exquisite as it sounds, possessing the uncanny ability to fully immerse the listener in the music.
