To date, she has had eight full-length releases to her name - each a marvel in vocal storytelling - with Chantal's smoky, rich and sultry vocals expertly crafting atmosphere, tone, and warmth. This effortless authenticity that radiates in Chantal's music, is at the heart of her appeal, and is evident in her latest release, "Wayfaring Stranger."
Chantal crafts her own rustic and rapturous rendition of this classic American folk & gospel song about journey, reflection, and closure. As Chamberland notes, "the song "Wayfaring Stranger" has been covered by many country artists, but I knew I wanted to give it a unique voice in the jazz world - there are many ways to interpret songs, just as there are many ways to interpret life itself- arrangements are like looking at the same thing, but through different lenses [and this song is] mainly about a person's reflection on the life he/she has lived, and their thoughts about it as they prepare for their life's chapter to come to a close."
"Wayfaring Stranger" will be featured as a bonus track on a special re-release of her acclaimed album Temptation. Temptation is a collection of pop and soul classics, which see Chantal shift between husky reverence and shimmering sophistication, with the diverse material showcasing Chantal's unique interpretations and impressive range. The album features other classics such as "I Put A Spell On You," "Chasing Cars," "Believe," and more.
