The Orpheus Absolute Line, recently refreshed, may be the entry to Orpheus performance and refinement, but these single-box models exceed the performance of top of the line models from many highly regarded high-end brands. There are five Absolute models: a CD player, an SACD player, a stereo preamplifier, a stereo power amplifier, and a stereo integrated amplifier. Products in the Absolute line are priced from $12,900 to $22,900.
The Heritage Opus II Line, introduced in 2024, is Orpheus’ no-limits line, consisting of three models which utilize every conceivable technique to produce the best possible musical performance: an SACD player, a stereo preamplifier, and monoblock power amplifiers. While not inexpensive, the Heritage products outperform most state-of-the-art contenders at twice their prices—or more. The SACD player with separate power supply is priced at $54,900; the stereo preamplifier with separate power supply is $52,900; and 800 watt (into 4 ohm) monoblock power amplifiers are priced at $73,900 per pair.
The mono amps (pictured above) feature a unique configuration of MOSFET output transistors, driven and controlled by bipolar transistors. By themselves, bipolar transistors are tightly controlled, but can sound cold and sterile; by themselves, MOSFETS can sound warm (sometimes characterized as “tube-like”), but can go into thermal runaway unless tightly controlled to safe parameters. The combination of the two types as utilized by Orpheus produces incredible detail and ambience, while also being immensely musical and listenable.
DACs in the Absolute CD and SACD players utilize multiple DAC chips to provide lower noise and complete separation of channels. The Heritage SACD player (pictured below) doubles the number of signal pathways used in the Absolute models, for vanishingly low noise, and startlingly 3-D imaging and soundstaging.
Orpheus, in Greek mythology, was a legendary musician of whom it was written, “There was no limit to his power when he played his lyre and sang. No one and nothing could resist him.” The Swiss Orpheus brand electronics are aptly named: Orpheus components present music with irresistible, beguiling naturalness.

There are eight Orpheus Lab models available; each offered in a luxurious silver finish. Bluebird Music is currently shipping Orpheus products to dealers in the US and Canada, and Bluebird will be stocking all eight models.
The five Absolute line models are priced from $12,900 to $22,900. The three Heritage line models are priced from $52,900 to $73,900.
