(April 11, 2025 - Los Angeles, CA) Rhino’s Quadio series continues with a brand-new collection of high-quality quadraphonic releases - Beaver and Krause's All Good Men & Gandharva (1972) and Rod Stewart's Atlantic Crossing (1975), The Modern Jazz Quartet's Blues on Bach (1973), and ZZ Top's Tres Hombres (1973). These four seminal albums have been mastered from their original analog four-track Quad mixes, with the Beaver & Krause and Rod Stewart titles making their quadraphonic debut.
Quadraphonic sound, or 4.0 surround sound, utilizes four audio channels connected to four speakers positioned at the corners of a listening space. The multi-tracked audio is mixed dimensionally, immersing the listener in an expansive soundscape.

Frequently known as Robert Moog’s West Coast salesmen, Paul Beaver and Bernie Krause act as cult-favorite electronic music pioneers. With All Good Men and Gandharva, the duo explores pop-leaning arrangements while venturing into their escape from early Moog synthesizers. With arrangement contributions from Jimmie Haskell (Simon & Garfunkel, Dean Martin, Bette Midler), All Good Men represents a pivotal moment in the intersection of experimental and popular music.
Growing out of Dizzy Gillespie’s Big Band rhythm section, The Modern Jazz Quartet carved a niche in intersecting baroque counterpoint alongside strong blues groundwork. Alternating tracks between rearrangements of Johann Sebastian Bach pieces and original blues compositions (in the following keys spelling out “B-A-C-H”), Blues on Bach seamlessly represents the band’s entertaining yet enjoyable ability in blending the seemingly different genres.
The sixth studio album from Rod Stewart, Atlantic Crossing, includes hit tracks “Sailing” and “I Don’t Want to Talk About It”. Peaking at No. 1 on the UK charts and No. 9 on the Billboard Top Pop Chart, Atlantic Crossing acts as home to some of Stewart’s biggest hits. As Stewart’s first record created in North America, the work represents a new era, leaning into his international scale.
ZZ Top’s third studio album, Tres Hombres, is the band's pivotal commercial breakthrough. Peaking at No. 8 on Billboard’s Top 200, the album effortlessly defined space for southern rock on international charts. With iconic tracks like “La Grange” and “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” the record defined a path for ZZ Top’s continued legacy, where Tres Hombres currently sits at No. 498 on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

Rhino introduced the Quadio Series in June 2023, with Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies, Black Sabbath's Paranoid, The J. Geils Band's Nightmares..., and Jefferson Starship's Red Octopus. This series follows the success of the sold-out Chicago and Doobie Brothers' Quadio sets. Quadraphonic sound, also known as 4.0 surround sound, uses four audio channels connected to four speakers at the corners of a listening area. This type of audio provides an immersive listening experience by dimensionally mixing multi-tracked audio, creating an expansive soundscape for the listener. Rhino’s recordings are transferred from the original half-inch four-channel masters at a high resolution of 192/24 for a pristine sound.
