Andover Audio Adds Extra Layer of Protection with launch of TrueGrain Cork Record Mat

Andover Audio is pleased to announce a new vinyl accessory: the TrueGrain cork record mat. A perfect companion to Andover’s SpinDeck and SpinDeck Max turntables, the TrueGrain mat is precision-cut and finished to achieve a smooth, leather-like surface, adding an extra layer of protection for records while damping vibration, reducing noise, and diminishing static buildup.

Andover’s TrueGrain material is composed of 100% cork harvested from mature groves in the central coastal region of Portugal. Cork naturally reduces unwanted vibrations and resonances, with the result of increased sonic clarity.

Cheaper record mats typically use cork-sawdust fillers or cork waste. The smaller cork granules used in TrueGrain result in a sturdier material that can undergo many rounds of sanding. This makes it possible to produce an ultrasmooth surface finish that provides long-lasting quality and protection of LPs.

Each TrueGrain mat is a precision-cut disc 0.15" thick disc and 11.9" in diameter. Compatible with most turntables, it allows records to be easily lifted off the platter without also lifting the mat.
