AGD Introduces the new Gran Vivace Monoblock reference amplifier with the unique GaN based Power Stage GaNTubeKT120

Los Angeles, Calif. — AGD Productions, Inc., a leader in Hi-End Audio electronic design, today introduced the AGD “Gran Vivace”, its new top of the line monoblock amplifiers.

The AGD Gran Vivace 350W/4ohm amplifier is based on the new GaNTubeKT120.

The AGD GaNTube technology is a unique proprietary CLASS-D modular platform 100% Gallium Nitride MOSFET based.

“The AGD Gran Vivace Monoblock, is the new addition to the AGD GaNTube Hi-End Power Amplifiers family. First to use the unique GaNTube technology with Gallium Nitride Power-Stage integrated into a glass tube, the AGD amplifiers are the most technologically advanced design available in the market today.” said Alberto Guerra, CEO at AGD Productions, Inc.

“The GRAN VIVACE power stage design achieves nearly ideal switching waveforms, completely oscillation-free, and can deliver at the same time twice the output power of the AGD Vivace. The AGD “Gran Vivace” is rated 350W on 4Ohm, 200W on 8Ohm and capable of an outstanding 50A max peak output current capability.” added Alberto.

To achieve these performances, AGD designed a new GaNTube component for the Gran Vivace, the AGD GaNTubeKT120.

The AGD GaNTubeKT120 is a larger and more powerful GaNTube, pin to pin compatible with its lower power sibling, the AGD GaNTube KT88 MkII, and utilizes a new state-of-the-art 600V rated GaN MOSFET devices.

The new 600Volt Gallium Nitride power MOSFET used in the GaNTubeKT120 power stage, can efficiently switch at much higher frequency and slew rates than any silicon-based counterparts, and can deliver the most sublime sound thanks to their ideal “by the book” oscillations-free switching capabilities.

These new advanced components are the key to the power capabilities and the reference musical performance of the AGD “Gran Vivace” Monoblocks.

Thanks to the improvement in key components, and the extremely efficient PCB layout (improvements tested and introduced recently with the AGD GaNTubeTM KT88 MKII), AGD has achieved the design’s goal to operate this more powerful power-stage at ~800kHz, the now standard PWM frequency of AGD GaNTubes.

The higher PWM frequency operation delivers a direct and positive impact on the overall outstanding sonic and musical performances with sublime mid-high range realism along with the unique tight and control bass.
