A personal note after Audio Video Show – Everest Audio Lab

Dear all,

While I still have your attention following Audio Video Show, I’d like to share a little personal news.

As some of you may already know, I sold my main business last December to an investment fund. Don’t worry - not Audio Video Show! It was a business completely unrelated to audio: a language school that I had run for 20 years, growing it to nearly 200 employees and the number two position in the Polish market. That business took up around 80% of my time, while Audio Video Show has always been, above all, a passion project.

As I’m apparently not very good at having too much free time, I founded Everest Audio Labs - a company designing and building music servers, along with our own USB and Ethernet cards.

This choice was no coincidence. I have been building music servers as a hobby for 15 years - first for myself, then for close friends. Along the way, I even designed the first SuperKomputer server for my good friend Łukasz Fikus of Lampizator. Łukasz later continued developing the project with his own team, but my passion for servers remained, waiting patiently… for a little more free time.

Our first server, the Everest Ascent, made its debut at this year’s Audio Video Show. It could be heard in three systems:

Paris A at PGE Narodowy, with VTL and Lirogon;

Room 306 at the Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel, with BonaWatt;

Room 327 at the Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel, with ADMD.

If you are preparing your show report and visited any of these rooms, I would be very grateful if you could also mention our source by name: Everest Audio Labs Ascent.

And whether or not you joined us in Warsaw this year, if your publication covers product news or press releases, I would greatly appreciate you sharing the news of Ascent’s launch.

Ascent is the first model in a planned family of servers. For the show in Vienna, we are preparing The Everest – a much larger and more ambitious design. It will feature our own Ethernet card and an even more advanced USB card, called USB Apex.

Both cards are already complete, and developing them was the most challenging part of the new server project. This makes me confident that we can have The Everest ready for its debut in Vienna.

Thank you for your time and for any interest you take in this new chapter of my work!
