Canton is setting new standards in the high-end audio segment with the launch of the Reference Alpha series. The series comprises two large high-end floorstanding loudspeaker models, the Reference Alpha 1 and the more compact Reference Alpha 2. The Alpha series impresses with its innovative technologies and elegant design variants. It will be presented at High End 2025 and is available to order now.
Two Model Sizes For Individual Requirements
With the Reference Alpha 1 and Reference Alpha 2, the series offers two model sizes to cater for different room sizes and listening preferences. Both models share the same technological innovations and guarantee maximum music enjoyment.
Diamond Midrange and Tweeter System For Unrivalled Sound
The midrange and tweeter cones of the Reference Alpha speakers are equipped with the newly developed diamond-ceramic-tungsten midrange system. The diamond-coated diaphragms ensure the perfect ratio of rigidity to weight. As a result, voices and instruments are reproduced with maximum precision and naturalness.
Another new and exclusive feature is the triple-curved, funnel-shaped cone in the centre of the speaker. This ultra-light, phase-optimized dome tweeter, concentrated at one point, is significantly more impulse-friendly and thus ensures even sound dispersion. In combination with the specially shaped Triple Curved Cone (TCC technology), the cone is stabilized and unwanted resonances and distortions are reduced. The iridescent surface of the cone enhances the extraordinary appearance of the midrange driver.
Harmonious Design and Powerful Performance
The elegant, curved design of the Reference Alpha combines aesthetics and function. The curved side panels, made from multi-layer wood laminate, offer exceptional stability and minimize resonance. The acoustically optimized curves prevent edge reflections and give the speaker its imposing yet timeless appearance. Round baffles and the curved sides, base and top in conjunction with the internal reinforcement minimize resonances and ensure exceptionally homogeneous dispersion characteristics.
Two-Part Connection Terminal With Customized Room Adjustment
The Reference Alpha's two-part speaker terminal features controls for RC (Room Compensation) technology. With this level adjustment, the sound pressure levels of the bass, mid-range and treble can be sensitively adjusted in 1.5 decibel increments. This allows the speakers to be optimized to suit personal listening tastes and room acoustics.
Elegant Color Versions in Warm Grey and Midnight Blue
The Reference Alpha speakers are visually impressive with their elegant Warm Grey and Midnight Blue color finishes. In combination with the doubled and elegantly curved side panel in walnut, the speakers ensure a timeless design that blends harmoniously into various living environments and emphasizes the high-quality character of the series.
Availability and Price
The Reference Alpha 1 and Reference Alpha 2 are now available to order from authorized Canton dealers. The US retail price for the Reference Alpha 1 is $70,000 per pair, and for the Reference Alpha 2 US retail price is $50,000 per pair. Canadian prices are $98,000 and $68,000 respectively.
