To the audio reviewer community,
Vladimir Lamm’s recent passing has brought deep sorrow to the members of his family and to all those who knew him and of him; who experienced the unforgettable feeling of elevation and involvement while listening to music through LAMM equipment; to countless number of people whose lives he touched through his work and on so many different levels.
He was a unique man, bigger than life, sometimes unpredictable but always dependable; funny and serious; strict and kind; brilliant yet humble; open but ready to protect himself from possible harm from ill-intentioned people; unbelievably deep; perfectionist in everything he touched; knowledgeable about just about anything (history, politics, human nature, religions of the world, mysticism, science, human body – just to name a few). His ability to make sense of everything that was happening and cut through the nonsense to the very essence of things was astounding. In short, he had class, finesse of character and unshakable moral standards – qualities that, unfortunately, are becoming a rarity in our day and age.
What he did in audio wasn’t “work” – it was his destiny, his calling and he gave himself to it without reservation. He used to say that every piece of equipment that was assembled and subsequently tested by him had a piece of his soul – and that was undeniable to anyone who heard music through his gear.
Life is an intertwinement of sorrow and joy, and so – even as we are still mourning his passing –his work continues. We are pleased to announce a huge step in taking the company to a new level of growth and expansion – relocation to Miami, FL where we will operate from a new facility built specifically to accommodate larger volumes of production, with offices for staff and a team of highly experienced audio engineers. The leadership remains within the family as Esther Lamm (Vladimir’s daughter) and myself aim to preserve Vladimir’s legacy based on his original vision and continue serving the existing customer base, while exploring and trailblazing new ways to make a Lamm name familiar to a wider and more diverse customer base. We hope that our dealers and distributors will be just as excited about this as we are, and that we will ascent to a higher level of mutually beneficial business relationships without losing the personal touch that has been the distinguishing mark of Lamm Industries throughout the years.
Due to the move, there will be a slight disruption in fulfilling the orders for new equipment, for parts and tubes, as well as for servicing the existing equipment. We truly look forward to starting operations at our new LAMM homebase in Miami.
