Writing notes here might be like writing a letter to oneself. But just in case ...

Got the CD today - want to hear the CD before I spend money on an LP of found sounds but have to say it is intriguing, engaging and addictive. Just listening to it on cheap computer speakers for the moment but it is just as interesting as you said it was.

Tonight will listen to it on a proper system and will see how well it translates. Might be the ultimate record to listen to in the car and one to avoid at home?

I did not think I would ever read a pop music review in PF that I could use.

Well, you start off talking about what is truly one of the great pop albums which completely took me by surprise and made me think this is worth reading.

You made me want to hear this which is the best review I can give of a review.

The fellow below is very correct Kevin Morby's THE SINGING SAW is a fine record. Along with the below my favorite records so fat this year.

You should listen to CAR SEAT HEADREST Teens of Denial - a great pop record. I have wondered for a long time if a record like this would ever be made again. It's that good.

PARQUET COURTS - Human Performance - too many bands by the time they make their fourth record have become bored. This record is a culmination of what they have been attempting on the previous three. They have improved as musicians and the song writing has taken a leap. There are a couple of clunkers but the rest of it is very good.

Bill Ryder-Jones - West Kirby County Primary very intimate recording. The songs will really grow on you. A little Pavementesque in places which I like. A really good record.

Thanks! Somehow I missed the first record, so when I read about this online a few weeks ago I wasn't sure what to expect. Head-scratching did ensue! I'm glad 90% of new music is available on Tidal, I only hope the artists are fairly compensated! My $20/month subscription is a great deal, but what means to the bands, I don't know.... Anyways, I give Wildflowers another "spin" tonight, keeping your review in mind. Another recent gem-Kevin Morby's "Singing Saw".
