That does clear it up, thanks Tom.
]]>Sorry, my bad here, I've done a poor job of explaining myself. I've corrected the article above to reflect the proper information. With regard to each of the Eminence high frequency drivers, the APT 50 has a frequency range of 3.5kHz-20kHz, and the ASD 1001 has a frequency range of 2.5kHz-25kHz. The 10-inch full-range driver, which carries all of the bass and midrange information, begins to roll off at 12kHz, leaving the supertweeter to carry everything from that point and above. Both drivers are not running full output over the entire frequency range. With the Clarity caps in the network, I don't know exactly at what point in the frequency spectrum the ASD 1001's output begins to be rolled off at the lower end, but there's a very nice transition between the two drivers that creates a very seamless presentation for the music. I do apologize for my lack of clarity here!
]]>That certainly my understanding as well but then you state... "The APT 50 drivers in my Omen DW's ... cross over at 3.5kHz, and sell for $30 each. The ASD 1001 supertweeter ... crosses over at 2.5kHz"
Are you telling us that the Zu's ASD 1001 supertweeter runs from 2.5kHz up along with the 10" driver, which drops off at 12k..? That both operate from 2.5kHz up?
]]>I'm so sorry, I just saw this today, I normally get an email whenever a post concerning a review is generated. The value is as follows: ClarityCap MR 400V 1.0µF. The caps can be purchased directly from Zu Audio (if they have them in stock): I got mine from Parts Connexion, and for an extra buck, they sent a tested, matched pair. For about the same price as Zu. As an FYI, the sound quality gets better and better with every passing day!
Thanks for reading!!
