Gary you captured it! I have had the F7 for nearly a year now and am still wowed by what it can do. I prefer it with my active (tube) preamp compared to my DIY Pass B1 buffer (bass especially) but given the amp's relatively low input impedance it can be tricky to find a tube preamp to match (my Manley shrimp fits the bill). It has driven Gallo 3.1s, Spatial M2s, DeVore Gibbon 8 and super 8 (my current fave)-all excellently at sufficient volume. Definitely reflects the quality of the recording as you say, no coddling! (which is great, and not so great sometimes...). Thanks for the thorough review.
