I just re-did my music system (anyone reading this has likely been there many times). I finally dumped my old MacBook with external SSD, which was connected by Halide Bridge to an NAD C510 and then to KEF Reference 205s (which I’ll never get rid of) and traded in the C510 for the PS Audio Stellar Gain Pre/DAC. Then I got an Aurender 100H music player/streamer/server. After those two wouldn’t “handshake” by USB, and after much research, I got the Sonore Ultra Digital to convert the Aurender’s USB to i2s via HDMI. Worked perfectly out of the box...and the sound is crazy good, best I’ve ever had by far. And as the review above indicates as well, my SACDs sound better than ever on my old Oppo BDP 95 thru the Stellar’s balanced analogue inputs. I’ve never posted on an audio blog before...but I thought I might save people some shopping & research time by writing up a pretty this reasonably priced and crazy great sounding rig.

In reply to Marc G.. But a great review otherwise? ;) Lots of people get a separate phono preamp? That way, those who do not want one do not have to pay a higher price for what they do not need.
