Now that Roy has added the upgrade motor for the 9.1, the 9.1 is now at a new level. I just purchased the new motor and was blown away with what it did to my 9.1. Deeper bass, wider sound stage, more detail. Hard to believe just changing the motor out would do that, but it did.

I have a modded 7.1, using 9cc arm and Cruise Control 2.0, essentially built a 7.3...After asking Roy a couple questions he told me to leave the table alone now..He's right it's a great table, best I ever owned. Now of course the 11.1 is my dream table, the 9.3 is attainable but man the 7.1 just does wonders for my ears......One day I will own a 9.3 or 9.4 🙂

Also to all the Music Hall naysayers.......You can kiss my A$$!!!!!!!!

Being biased and opinionated, I expect praise, but am surprised when it actually happens.

The 9.3 is the latest iteration of the 9 series and has evolved over quite a few years starting with the 9 then 9.1.

Turntable design is fairly simple in concept but often quite challenging in execution. Some of the fundamentals include isolation from the elements. This is achieved using “split-plinth technology. (Multiple platforms, separated by Sorbothane springs) and positioning the needle exactly in the center of the groove. Using an amazingly good carbon fiber arm, with precise bearings, does this.

I have the added complication of trying to make my tables within a strict price range. This has two purposes.

One, it gives great value to the customer.

Two, it fucks the competition.

In all seriousness, I’m humbled that Mark has understood and explained all the work that goes into making the 9.3.

Roy Hall,

Music Hall
