I am a 70 year old coot who still enjoys vinyl . I have my original collection of 1k+ albums, which I never got rid of . They are in great shape,since I took good care of them . I listen with my 1954
Garrard 301 TT thru a 1960 Fisher tube amp and separate Fisher tube pre-amp . They sound as nice as when I bought each album new . My question is what would justify the Reference power cord , when I certainly do not have Leonard Bernstein's ear for music ? Seems to me the basic 115 v.a.c.is doing a fine job as is . Even thru 50+ year old power cables . I do not get it . The music is wonderful . How much better can it get ?

16 ohm taps.... would love to hear this with a pair of Falcon 15 ohm LS3/5a's.

This is a nice review, but even so may still underestimate the quality (both build and sound) you get for your $4k. I can't think of a tube amp close to this in price that is built to this brick house level of solidity. Compared to any comparably-priced CJ amp, the transformers used are simply humongous. And the sheet metal used is way thicker than anything I've seen at even twice the price. 30 watts are 30 watts, but this thing sounds like way more, particularly in bass power and dynamics. What other tube amp priced less than $5k gives you premium -brand output tubes and NOS input tubes to boot? Mike has really knocked it out of the park with this one.
