There is no rigid coupling between the rotating platter and the tonearm pivot. How does this not manifest in unwanted/uncorrelated movement? Even if the platter could rotate with absolutely no motion or vibration, the plinth on which the tonearm is fixed would be affected by airborne and floor vibration. This would seem to suggest lab testing should be done.
