Who is Black Diamond Racing?
"BDR" was founded by DJ Casser to explore the application of advanced composite materials, such as carbon fiber, to alternate structures. Familiarity with these types of materials was first achieved during 30 years of Yacht racing. In this field, maximum performance, virtually regardless of cost, is the goal and measured to hundredths of a knot!  Combined with DJ's passion for audio spanning over 20 years, blending the two seemed a logical choice. What transpired was an R & D effort costing 20,000 hours and a literal fortune.

What was discovered?
It was found that vibration has a far more significant effect on audio than most people realized. BDR's research and testing, including evaluation by some of the best equipment and ears in the world, indicated it was a combination of high rigidity along with high damping rates, that provided by far the best results. As carbon fiber has five times the tensile strength of steel, they found it to be the best material for optimal performance available at this time. Pyramid Cone

Mk3 or Mk4 (in sets of 3, 4 or 6) $20 each.

For use anywhere: speakers, sources, components, power supplies, video.

Mk3 cones offer a warmer sound with a slight emphasis in the bass and lower mids.

Mk4 cones offer a more neutral and linear sound with an even emphasis throughout the bandwidth.

The Pucks

Mk3 or Mk4 (sets of 3 or 4, with studs) $55 each

Approximately 2.75" diameter with a 1/4-20 threaded hole all the way through the piece, countersunk on both sides. The Puck can be used as a Cone cup, or screwed together with the Cones, providing unprecedented versatility and per­formance. .75" and 1.5" 1/4-20 stainless studs are included.

Thick Pucks

Mk3 or Mk4 (sets of 3 or 4, with studs) $75 each

Approximately 2.75" diameter and 1.25" thick with a 1/4-20 threaded hole all the way through the piece, countersunk on both sides. Excellent for use under larger speakers and components. .75", 1" and 1.5" 1/4-20 stainless studs are included. Also available as Thick Pits.

The Pits

Mk3 or Mk4 (sets of 3 or 4, with studs) $55 each.

Similar to The Pucks, but dimpled one side for use as a Cone cup and threaded on the other side for screwing together with the Pyramid Cones. .625" 1/4-20 stainless studs are included.

Mini Pits

Mk3 or Mk4 (sets of 3 or 4, with studs) $45 each.

The Shelf

BDR Isolation Shelves come in a variety of sizes. Pictured is the 18" x 14" Shelf for Sources which is 1 1/2" thick compared to the 3/4" thickness of the regular Isolation Shelf.
