I have several pressings of the vinyl and the earlier Elan CD. The HP CD is superior to the Elan by far. It mirrors the LP so closely that the vinyl's ambience retrieval barely wins out while the CD has a superior quiet background. Another favorite is the Leinsdorf Bartok CD. Great CD, maybe better than my LP version.
