Yes, I have the MoFi as well, Greg, and for many years now. It's excellent. Solti was a very early favorite of mine, back in the '70s, when I bought his box set of the Beethoven symphonic cycle. I still have it, in perfect condition...still a joy!

Hey MJ, thanks for the nod as to how accomplished that performance and recording is... I've got three versions of that performance, the original 1972 US London release, the original 1972 UK Decca release, and then the 1981 Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs release. While they are all good, the MoFi is by far the quietest, affording the most subtly to microdynamics, and the most dimensional view into the performance. I'm so pleased you were wiling to spend the time and resources to make that long weekend visit! Thanks again for taking the time!

I then heard it at Greg's place and ordered a copy for myself online.

Did you ask Bill who turned him onto that version of Beethoven's 9th? I brought it with me for the Stern/Heisenberg demo, and he ordered his copy while we were still listening to it... 😉
