I amassed several hundred CDs, a hundred LPS, and 100 or so cassettes. Then I started buying many MP3 albums from the sell an album for a dollar "legal" Russian owned outfits. Finally I retired from the army and got a great project job and had the income for hi-fi. In a handful of years I have amassed over 1200 LPs and have a nice EAT C Sharp table, EPOS speakers and a pair of SVS sealed subs, a Luxman amp and a McIntosh tube preamp. I am just about to spring for twin MC75 mono amps. Well I did---but Binghampton factory needs to build them. ... Yet I will still OCCASIONALLY stream spotify or one of my MP3 files. Note how I said files and not music ,,haha LP vinyl as far as I am concerned is where it is at....and I have discovered spending $$$$ really does exponentially improve all aspects of the sound. I could just not imagine being restricted to solely listening to music that is uploaded to my phone---YUCK.

I pretty much stream these days but I am hoping to buy a turntable this year. Speaking of which whoever didn't want you writing about turntables is the one who's truly out of touch.

Since last year, I started really using digital streaming from my MacBook Pro, external portable DAC and Pure Music to access my iTunes library which holds, hi-res, mp3 and CD quality music. I connect to my main system once and a while or use with my headphones or with my smartphone/DAC in the car. For serious listening, I still use my CD player, but my main source is my turntable and integrated tube amp and electrostatic speakers. Life if good. Streaming through paid sites is not for me, I tried once, a free 2 week trial of Tidal but I prefer to own my music.
