This is as much a pleasure to read as it is enlightening about the loudspeaker under examination. You've captured both the magic Dave has distilled into this monitor in its m4 iteration, which originated as the Pasadena monitor at CES in 2010, and the sensible compromises -- which are NOT that, um, compromising -- necessary to hit a grand slam home run at this price point.
