Had to put the Gear-and-Roaming column follow-up (a.k.a RMAF 2016) on-hold, as I gotta get the review of the new Orb album done for PF!!

Hi Damon,

I'm sorry I didn't see this comment until now...but thank you! You actually said what I suspected, that there are other shows with problems too. I think that it's YOU, the manufacturers and exhibitors, that make the rooms work. It's your magic at work! But, I know that at RMAF Marjorie is always there, tirelessly, in the background.

I also agree, Friday's traffic at the show was phenomenal! Wow!

Hope to see you soon!

My life changed at RMAF in 2009.
I love the show so much.
I've loved Marjorie and the whole team for, 7 years now...

I've been proud to work for Marjorie, building RMAF's social media infrastructure since 2010.
This year, I handled ALL social media - from making sure exhibitors knew how to TAG things properly for eyeshare - to sharing whatever people needed across the FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit and Instagram!

And, I ended up, doing it all remotely

My girls got pix of me passed out on my MacBook!

I got plane tickets, and, well... She was my first social client to pay me what I'm worth!

After goin' through a 20-yr marriage disintigration - I workd my TAIL off as I budgeted everything around this earner for me - RMAF has always been my top earner of the year - and I also LOVE it.

My own cousin went, didn't tell me.

So - I always write a pre-RMAF piece - and I did this year too, at OccupyHifi
My readers wanna know wha happened. What do I do?

I don't want to feel this way but, I'm proud of the job I did.

I mean, you hit "#RMAF" in Instagram and check that number... You're welcome RMAF

This was the show where my dearly-departed friend, mentor and teacher Harry Pearson, put me on the spot and asked me to address the audience about the Future of High End Audio...

RMAF means so much to me
But my Occupy readers are asking that I stick to Harry's Tagline like I always have:

#TruthSpokenHere.

What to do?? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/d34c876c685915a0ccb704c45b7098f5ac47313a5cb2becb8325c2b31c295e54.jpg

It was great seeing you at the show! I just wanted to take this moment to say thanks for writing this article; I couldn't agree more.

As a vendor, I was very pleased with how successful the show performed this year. Yes, there were challenges with the remodel and how we setup the rooms. But this was minor compared to the challenges we've had at other shows. Take any Manhattan show for instance; with rooms that are typically much smaller than the remodeled ones we had at RMAF. And the staff and show crew were as friendly and helpful as always. Last but not least, Marjorie is amazing. She's such a HUGE supporter of High-End Audio, my special thanks goes out to her.

Anecdotally speaking, turnout even seemed better than last year; especially on Friday. Looking forward to next year 😉
