Thank you, Hudson Fair, for listening. Live mixing during a performance is always a challenge... especially in a situation where it's being broadcast. No doubt, we all wished we had another 3 hours to do more sound checking. 🙂
In our style of recording, we try to allow the musicians more freedom to move freely. Anticipating how far a musician may move from the mics isn't possible.
There is also the subjective sense of adding more or less additional reverb or capturing the room as it is... more dry for instruments that are softer (like Jenna's vocal) and won't activate the room or bleed into other microphones. One day, I hope to post Leslie's mixes and my mixes so that music lovers can hear that there is no one way to mix a record. It's fascinating to me as an engineer.
The downloads we are offering for sale have been edited and more finely remixed (more 'environment' added to suit my personal taste for listening). It would be interesting to here your opinion of the mixes. You can audition full length songs here (not in DSD, but you'll here the mix differences).

I would like to personally thank some people without whose help, this day could not have happened....
Jenna and Alex who were unhesitating in their willingness to perform for the event;
Leslie, Dann, Dusty and the entire crew at Skywalker Sound for their efforts extended beyond a normal session;
David Pappas, photographer, whose beautiful images captured the essence of the day;
Patrick and Elena from Blue Coast who were up at 5am to load up the gear and gave their all;
Sean Beresford, engineer, who helped out without hesitation on arrival;
Stephen Jarvis and his amazing copper mics from Didrik DeGeer;
Tetsuya (whose first trip to the USA was to test the internet speed and connections) and Kazunori from Primeseat for managing to make necessary connection despite our lack of speaking Japanese;
Taka, Nishio-san and all the others at Primeseat who were not able to attend but supported us throughout;
The friends and guests who took a day out of their lives to be there and support us;
Very special thanks to David Robinson at Positive-Feedback -- without the use of your gear this day would truly not be possible;
Sony, Korg, Merging Technologies, Sonoma, Mytek and all the professional audio companies who provide tools to create the music in DSD;
The hundreds of high end manufacturers and listeners who support DSD;
And Gus Skinas, your unwavering love and support of DSD keeps the dream of great sound alive.
Thank you, everyone!
