The Dac 8 DSD is one of the best sounding pieces of digital out there and especially when run at DSD 512 or PCM 384 sounds amazing!
One customer compared the Dac 8 DSD to a Chord Dave and found the T+A to come shockingly close to the Dave at 1/4 the price, so I think a lot of people are realizing that the technology in T+A digital products is quite superior to many other approaches to building state of the art digital.
Of course the HV reference series products sound far superior to the DAC 8 DSD.
We are getting fantastic results with the Baetis servers and the Innious Servers. The Baetis is a true reference grade server that takes a different approach to the SGM we would love to see a shoot out between these two titans.
We are working on a setup with the Innious Zenith a $3,500.00 server that sounds fantastic, it is a Linux based device and recognize the T+A Dac 8 DSD but will only to the upconverstion to PCM 384, I know that in order to do Quad Rate DSD I think you need ASIO driver.
Do you have any experience on how to get a Linux based device to see and select a different driver?
Anyway, if your are ever in our neck of the woods we would love to have you stop in and listen to our DAC 8 DSD setup, thanks again for such a glowing review.

Good question, Adam. Now that we have the LampizatOr Golden Gate 2 in...a major step forward in performance, BTW, and supporting out to DSD512...we may well be able to give that a try. I'm sure that the folks at Sound Galleries would be able to develop a profile for it, if they don't have one already.
