And it fully matches my personal experience! Both in the fact that Lyn Stanley's music a great - and in the fact that her recordings are superb by any measure. I have her vinyl LPs (45 RPM) and they truly are some of the very best recordings I own. The one step pressing and the highest levels of quality in all steps of production led to an exceptional result.

But as the review correctly describes: even vinyls of this superior quality are surpassed by mastertape copies... effortless.... The R2R tape technology has technical/physical advantages over the vinyl technology that are measurable, undenyable - and hearable! In terms of channel separation, bass capabilities, dynamic range, details, noise floor etc tapes are simply better. The review describes the result very well.
It could be boiled down to the formula: vinyl delivers the best possible REPRODUCTION of music, but mastertape (copies) deliver the MUSIC. If you ever have a chance to listen to Lyn Stanley's tapes you will know what I try to describe.
