Allow me to apologize for my tardiness responding to this kind feedback. Mr David, Mr Jonathan, Mr. Moore..I am growing increasingly interested in recording my own music in this manner. I just missed it last time for my "Dreams of Earth" release. The songs need to generate themselves as well as the resources for the venture. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.
]]>Wave Kinetics Records was started because of David's persistent phone calls asking for my assistance in getting Ilya Itin recorded at super high resolution. After seeing a video of one of his performances, I was instantly as excited as David.
We decided the best way to capture the performances digitally was with Quad DSD (DSD 256). There are so many fine engineers that we could have used for the digital recordings, but for me, the team of Rob Friedrich, Michael Bishop and Thom Moore are as good as it gets. Their experience with Quad DSD (DSD 256) did not hurt.
For analog it was an easy decision, 30 ips 1/2" tapes. We called the best in the business, Bette and Dan at ATR Services and used the finest tapes (ATR Magnetics) and the finest tape machines (Ampex ATR-102) available. They were there on-site to make sure the sessions went without a hitch.
What you witnessed is actually our third release of Ilya Itin (the first live concert). We expect to announce all three of them officially later this year. Also, in the future we look forward to recording Thom Moore, who himself is a wonderful Oboist.
