No offense to Cherry, but this crap is getting old folks. But then, it is kind of funny because the dolts HIFi pray one would be tossing heir money to a cult had they not gotten into HiFi. So the money is in better hands at the the no of the day.
Please tell everyone that the DAC makes little importance in this day and age of HiFi. In th studio-- whole different deal. I bet, and I'm for real, I could line up five 24/192 DACS starting with a $400 one, $1500, $2000, $5000, and anything over $10K and no one could pick which one was which, or even be able to guess which one would sound the best, if everything was the same and only the DAC was pulled out and replaced. I would even use the same recording. Something shitty, because we all know how little importance the actual music is to the entire equation.
It's odd that DACS are even a huge thing. They should be covered more like a tube buffer would be covered. You have to love mass mentality. Read this post in less than 10 years to see how right I am.

But remember . . . it also depends on your expectations and system; based on the idea that a DAC is supposed to have NO SOUND of it's own, the DAC DAC is the single most musical digital to analog converter to come along since the STAX or Manley Tube DACs (1989 & 1990); both of which cost many times what DAC DAC does 🙂
