Would love a purpose built NAS like the Certon, but it appears they may not be available. Doesn't look like their German website is up. Anyway, short of the Certon, are you aware of anyone else doing a high end audio oriented NAS?
My quest continues....! Thank you Dave.

How long has he had this business? What's his day job?

http://www.certonusa.com/ Sorry for the confusion. The US site is linked to in the article (I updated that so it is now more obvious).
Okay I see. Certon is now being distributed in the US by Chris Morris at http://www.certonusa.com/ Sorry for the confusion. Appears Certon needs to update their site. Guess us too as the Certon US site was not up at the time of the review.
]]>Okay I see. Certon is now being distributed in the US by Chris Morris at http://www.certonusa.com/ He is very responsive to emails.
]]>Dave, please see my response above, which should make it very clear why I am asking. A product without representation, support, and domestic service might as well be a boat anchor.
]]>If you go to http://integrita.de/en and view the Integrita product reviewed here (Home / Solutions / Audio section) and click on the Where to Buy link on the right and click on USA, it takes you to https://certon.de/en/solutions/bezugsquellen/itemlist/category/44-usa.html which shows Sound Organisation as the distributor.
Shortly before I posted here I sent Sound Organisation some questions and received this reply:
We are no longer the distributor for this product.

Thus I am looking for answers to my questions above, and so will every person in the US who owns or at least is considering the products.
]]>I responded above... but just in case...Not sure how the Sound Origination fits in with the items under review here... as far as I am aware at the time of this review, none of these are part of their line. contacting the either SO or their closest dealer will lead you in the right direction.

]]>You know, the fact that you replied to this guy but not to my question even though I sent you an email so you wouldn't miss it speaks volumes about your integrity.
]]>Am thinking that any way one can clean up a signal it would help. Say within the network (products from Acoustic Revive) and even the USB signal (Regen, iFi USB3, Audioquest Jitterbug, etc.) and especially power. I do have the Regen here now as well as the new iFi USB3. I also just got the Aurender N100 too, so much to explore. Would be interested in your experiences with the Totaldac cable.
]]>I would think that any way you can clean up a signal you will benefit in more music. My experience for sure, hence using items like the Regen, iPurifier, Jitterbug, the RL-1 from Acoustic Revive, and certainly better power supplies. With the Aries I found the biggest improvement was moving from my Drobo FS to the Certon Integrita C4 and now the SBooster power supply to power the Aires. USB appears to be the favorite with some (both Antipodes and Aurender only allow for USB out), but I like having the option as seen with the Aries of USB, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU. I am not familiar with the Totaldac cable but it appears to be addressing similar issues as that of the Regen, Jitterbug, and iPurifier. But do have here the Light Harmonic USB cables, as well as USB cables from Sablon, Cardas, Furutech, PAD, Nordost, Kubala-Sosna, WyWires, Dynamic Designs, Acoustic Revive, JCat, etc. All with different characteristics and sound. Ditto Ethernet cables. Oh, and John knows his stuff - he is a good guy.
]]>Hi Dave,
I didn't really expect a reply. I personally have an Aries and am happy with the sound. That being said I have ordered a Totaldac cable. Living in New Zealand, not far from where Antipodies originate, I did consider their product when I decided to go down the digital route. Cost and reviews led to the purchase of the Aries. I continue to read comments and reviews and the current flavour concerning Aries is combined with Regen and Curious. Totaldac seems to be going out of favour. There also seems to be a swing away from USB. I prefer simple and try to avoid multiple cables and power supplies.
Having read several of John Darko's reviews, I would question to what extent, if any, that the Antipodies would benefit from added junk.
I look forward to reading about any tweeks you may apply to the Aurender.
For sure the Antipodes is a stellar 'one-box' solution and highly recommended for those who want to go that route. The Aries is also quite good, though it is bettered by the Antipodes in every way as noted in my review(s) though I do not have any interest in a shoot out (I do have the Aurender N100 here now so the journey continues). The focus here was to see if one could in fact close the gap between the Antipodes and Aries and yes, in my opinion, once can by adding a better power supply, a real audio-centered NAS like that of the Certon, and so on. I would add that this "truck load of vestigial crap" would benefit the Antipodes as well and are not limited to that of the Aries. Please realize that my goal here was to look into these various widgets and boxes regardless of which unit you might own. The Aries presented itself as the best option to in this project.
]]>I guess if you just bought the Antipodies and be done, you would have one simple, elegant solution rather than a truck load of vestigial crap.
