Hello, I was wondering how these compare to the m1060's, I have a pair and was looking at moving up to these but the reviews have been spotty, would it be worth it?
]]>The cables with the AR headphones was single-ended only, so no experience as balanced. The Jotunheim is good enough for me here.
]]>What was your overall preference with them if you don't mind me asking? I have the ALO Pan AM so for single ended I am sure it will sound decent, since it really it is a great amp with great ability to bring out the best of bass out of some of my planars, and clarity and details are really solid. But as far as balanced I am in between Jotunheim, Matrix 3b with upgrade opamps, Audio GD NFB 1 Amp. Because of the resellability of Jotunheim I may just go that route
]]>Sorry it took awhile to approve your comment, not always at the computer... I felt they paired quite nicely with the Schiit unit, though I am sure when used with a different amp/DAC, one will get a "different" result. Since the Schiit unit is my reference of sorts - though I do have other amps/DACs here from Mytek, Heed, and iFi - it is the one I use daily so for me, was the best option. DClark
]]>I wanted to ask if you felt the Jotunheim paired well with this headphone overall, granted I will be using a different DAC( better IMO from what i know and what i have read/heard) Because I would like to get a balanced amplifier again to pair with balanced Ares I own. Please let me know what how you felt about the pairing? I apologize for the listing of gear, it was just to show you what I have used long term and at the moment as of right now.
