Portland, Oregon – ALO audio is excited to announce the launch of Campfire Audio, a dedicated earphone brand that will produce premium earphone and headphones for the personal audio community.
The official launch in the USA for Lyra, the first earphone from Campfire Audio, is August 2015.
Campfire Audio believes Lyra will be a welcome addition to the high-end earphone market and fans of dynamic driver in ear monitors.
At the heart of Lyra is a 8.5mm high performance dynamic driver. Made from beryllium PVD (physical vapor deposition over PET film diaphragm, high quality CCAW (copper clad aluminum wire) voice coil and powerful neodymium rare-earth magnets.
A critical component in any audio transducer is maintaining low mass and high rigidity. A material know for its amazing physical stiffness, weight, and speed of sound that has been enjoyed in the high end home audio market for decades is beryllium. However its use in miniature drivers has virtually non existent until now.
The dynamic driver is housed in an ultra-high density Zirconium Oxide Ceramic (ZrO2) enclosure that offers superior acoustic properties, such as enhanced vibration dampening. It also is extremely durable and scratch resistant.
Integrating a custom 8.5mm beryllium PVD transducer into a tuned high mass ceramic enclosure is a powerful combination. The synergy found in this pairing is really something special.
The Lyra delivers a natural and dynamic sound–exceptional high frequency extension, silky smooth mids, and deep, powerful bass response. Our unique design is unencumbered to convey sound free from grain or harshness.
